PRINCE2® is the most commonly used project management approach in the world today and is increasingly being used in conjunction with Agile practices. As more and more organisations adopt and embed Agile, the need for specific guidance on how to use PRINCE2 in the context of Agile has become important.
PRINCE2 and Agile each have their own strengths and when combined they complement each other and create a holistic approach to managing projects in an Agile way. The strength of PRINCE2 lies in areas of project direction and project management, while Agile has a very strong focus on product delivery. Combining PRINCE2 and Agile delivers an integrated and seamless approach to managing and delivering modern projects.
PRINCE2 Agile® describes how to configure and tune PRINCE2 so that it can be used in the most effective way when combining it with Agile behaviours, concepts, frameworks and techniques.
PRINCE2 Agile does not favour one Agile approach over any other, it engages with Agile in all of its many forms to provide a holistic project management approach that can be tailored to suit a wide variety of project conditions.
It is important that potential students for this course are currently certified in PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Agile Foundation, and secondly that they have a basic understanding of what Agile is, otherwise combining PRINCE2 and Agile together will not be effective. It is also important to note that PRINCE2 Agile is not a substitute for PRINCE2.
The course includes a copy of the official PRINCE2 Agile publication, which is permitted for use in the exam.
It is highly recommended that you spend some time each evening of this course reviewing and consolidating what you’ve learned, to be well prepared for the exam.
Examination
By completing this course, the student will have sufficient knowledge to sit the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner Examination. The exam is held on day 4 of the course.
The PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner Examination is:
- 2.5 hour scenario-based objective testing multiple choice exam
- 50 questions worth 1 mark each
- Requires 30 marks out of 50 to pass (i.e. 60%)
- Open book (official PRINCE2 Agile book only)
